My Crash At Laguna Seca

Here it is. It's towards the end of the video.

Do you find the other riders had an influence on the crash? (ie: you wanted to go as fast as them) And what was the procedure after the crash? Could you try to ride again or had to wait?

That blows! Glad you're alright though, bikes can be rebuilt. I'd love to get out to Laguna seca some day but for now I'll just have to be happy with our local tracks.

If his track day org is like ours his bike would have to go through tech inspection again, if it passes he can go back out.

I ride in advance group, so probably 75% or maybe even more riders are an influence. Some of those guys actually race in different sanctioned bodies. They're fast and skilled. In all honesty, I was the reason for the crash.

My bike was done - broken clip on. They have two ways for handling crashing. If you crash in the morning, you have to wait until after lunch. If you crash after lunch, you're done for the day. I crashed on the session right before lunch.

Ehhh, it's apart of the sport. You live, you learn, you grow. A good experience, and a many lessons learned.

It's a great, fun, sometimes a little scary (in a good way), legendary old skool track. I'd definitely ride it again.

Glad that you are okay! My Dad just took a spill on his bike last weekend.

Falling definitely isn't fun, but it happens. The good thing is I live to ride another day.

Agreed. It's already in the works. Not a full blown new color, just adding a lil' twist.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I know nothing of bikes.

What's a clip on?

Thankfully you're good to go!

Googling "R6 clip on," they're handlebars.

"I can't ride my bike with no handlebars. No handlebars."

It just blows my mind going around a corner at 90mph. How well does the suit hold up? Also what caused the spill?

This one didn't hold up as well as my other suit, and this one was wayy more money. It has two tears in it, both being about 3" in length. One is in the leather on the forearm, and the other is in the thigh portion that's some type of nylon/elastic/fabric type material. I'll have to send it out to get it patched and repaired. I guess it's time to start saving for a new one. Damn. I'll be on my 3rd suit in what? - 5 years.

This is an expensive @ss hobby. That, and I just bought a $700 Arai helmet 2 years ago that's getting replaced with another Shoei or AGV.

You can make it a lot more expensive

YT is blocked here so I can't see the vid, but I'm glad you're OK. Bikes are generally pretty cheap to fix. I recently totalled my G at a track day... that was no fun.

I wish they were as cheap as people need them to be. This is one damn expensive hobby - more expensive than modding a CB7.

Where are you at?

Totaling a bike is no bueno! Getting another?

Not a bike, my G37. I did do a track day on my bike, and that went great. I'm done riding though, that was my last time on the bike.

What brand body work did you go with and how was the fit? I'll be doing the same thing come winter and there's a pretty large price difference between some brands.
