quik odd question... is there any diff in the Type S and non Type S MT Cluster? ALSO the JDM ONes are the ones wit the yellow needles wit that reads up to 180? Shouldn't it read 220?

he cut the cluster itself instead of cutting the cb trim (great idea btw)

well you need to also cut the trim in back, but NOT the vent! to make it fit like that. A bit of dremel work is involved but nothing difficult. You'll see what needs to be cut when you get into there.

jdm cluster read in kph (kilometers per hour) as opposed ot the us clusters read in mph (miles per hour)

makes it kind hard to tell how fast your going. i wouldn't want a jdm one cuz they are more expensive for nothing really

So this DIY is useless to me, except the automatic part?

not completely useless some of the wires are the same. And I believe ALMOST all the colors are the same, the only thing is some wires colors are used twice like I think oil pressure and seat seatbelt indicator are both yellow/red. I used a 90 pin out on my 91 and all but one plug was different. I basically looked for matching colors, guessed and threw it in my car and checked it. Took me 3 or 4 times to get the colors right. I also soldered some wires to a 9v battery and had it next to me and was able to check some of the indicator light by finding the ground in that plug harness and touching it to the other pins.
