ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Replace engine in LA?

Could anyone suggest a place where I could get my 91 EX engine replaced? Has a cracked head. Preferably in the San Fernando Valley. Close to Burbank. Just something decent so I can hang on to my CB7. Someone who can locate an engine and do the install. I really don't wanna let it go to the junkyard.

    Thanks guys.

I'm not from that area so I can't lend a personal recommendation, but I would suggest you look in the Southern California Regional Forum. You can't post in it but I'm sure if you read enough threads about what others are doing with there projects some shops will probably be brought up; some very repeatedly. Also some of the more prominent members have Member's Ride Threads as well. Typically they will give credit to businesses that have helped them garner success. Good luck.

Have you given Soken Trade Corporation a call?
They claim that they have the "Best Selection of Used Japanese Car Engines (2015)"

The LA Weekly review reads: The sales staff are all business, but they offer warranties, free deliveries and the phone number of a dependable neighborhood mechanic who can do the installation.

Couldn't hurt to give 'em a call, right?

He's not looking for an engine supplier. He's looking for a shop that will locate and install the engine for him. This is why we don't allow regional discussions in this section.

orbitalpunk, do some research on shops near you. Go on Yelp and read reviews. Find a shop that works on Japanese vehicles regularly, that has been around for at least a decade, and has numerous good reviews. Then call them, and explain what you need. That is what they do. Shops locate the necessary parts to fix their customers' cars. As long as you're not looking to do some crazy engine swap, literally ANY shop in your area can and will replace your engine for you.

Just keep in mind that "real cb7tuner" has absolutely nothing at all to do with this website.

Rick's Japanese Car Care in Thousand Oaks, CA

I've known the owner for a long time and he is one of the most respected mechanics in my area for Japanese cars.
