ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I'm sorry, I was just looking for some quick answers, which I got (yours too, thanks).

The thing is, I can't replace the cat on my car, I need to pass emissions still because I live in phx Unless I misunderstood (which I'm prone to doing, even after re-reading and researching)

      Possible Set-Up

Oh, right, I forgot. Here's what I think will be alright (after reviewing all of the suggestions)

      2.25 piping (Kteller)
      Vibrant flat black muffler
24" resonator (cherry bomb or thrush brand, I guess (size can vary))

So two things: Do I keep the high-flow cat I have, or revert to the stock one?
And my uncle said not to buy all of the pre-bent pipes, that a muffler shop will do it for way cheaper... is that true?

Thanks for the help, I can't get it anywhere else. My whole family is into old-school Impalas, I'm kindof the black sheep.

        not really louder, more deeper.

OP what you have sounds pretty good, you can get a cherry bomb glasspack on amazon for like $50 now days, they're all the same, as long as they are straight-through, perforated with fiberglass packing (hence the name)

and yes a shop will make cheap bends, just do yourself a favor, and make sure they are not crimp bends as they will hinder the flow, get mandrel type bends, if they charge you too much just get pre-made mandrel bent piping, as far as the cat goes... they're all the same just try to get a metal matrix one, i have a Magnaflow 3" high flow cat in mine just make sure that when its all mounted that the serial on the cat is facing downwards in case the 5-0 gets cute and checks

I do have the Vibrant muffler, that's one reason why I suggested it. It's stealthy and it's a straight through design. You might want to add a resonator to baffle it a little, but you won't be disappointed with that muffler.

For a resonator i would recomment a Aero ar25. I have 2 on my car and its sounds pretty good.

Did everyone know Kteller lists their piping sizes as OD" NOT ID". And other companies do as well. But my resonator and muffler I just got are measured by ID".
Can anyone comfirm the size of Bisi's collector?

How the hell is everything supposed to be smooth flowing and line up and install good if it's not all the same size?

I just bought Kteller's 2.5", a Hedman 24" glasspack, and a Dynomax VT muffler, Bisi header is on it's way. And a new 300 cell cat too. I'll be posting my thoughts when it's all done.

I had a Magnaflow catback on for a while before something else took a shit, and it was good and sounded ok and not too loud. But what header and type of cat, if at all, you use, will make a big difference.
