Cigarette lighter gets no power, how to remedy?

I tried charging my Nextel (same charger I had in old Accord), and it wouldn't get any power. Also I tried pushing the lighter in, to get the lighter element hot, no go on that one either.

So is it a fuse? Or is it the socket itself, or connection? I guess I'll have to rip the dash apart to access it for testing, so I'll do that when I buy my new headunit.

does your radio work?? they are on the same circuit.......should be a 10 amp fuse.......if the radio does work, you got some searchin to do

i had this prob when something shorted out in my radio and every time i would turn it on, the lighter would go with it
