ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Water spot stains on windows

Hello guys! I got a major problem, it's very irritating to see dried water spots on my windows after I had wiped them clean with alcohol and still won't come off. Any suggestions????? Thank You Very Much!!!!

Obviously it's not water spots. These would come off really easy. So even using hot water, soap, and a scrub brush does nothing?

As stated, if they were water spots, they should come off with cleaning. One alternative: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=171528

sounds like Hard Water (mineral) etchings.

fleetw00d's recommendation on polishing would most likely take care of it. Before you go gung-ho with powered polishing you might want to test it out using a cloth, or a couple of the other options mentioned in this DIY:

My philosophy is to take the most benign approach first and work your way to more aggressive fixes from there.

I would start with vinegar first and see how it goes. If that doesn't work try adding some baking soda to form a paste.

If these remedies still don't do the trick it's time to look polishing as fleetwood and Mike have mentioned. You may want to consider Cerium Oxide Glass Polishing Compound. You can find this on Amazon and usually requires an electric polisher. I'd suggest watching a few YT videos first to see how it's done.

          Hope this helps...

This would be acid rain. Get you some very fine compound, soapy water in a spray bottle and a wax pad. Clean your window, add some compound snd buff away with the wax pad and mist a little bit of soapy water as needed. Once done you can finish off with a polish.

              Thanks for the input everyone

After reviewing everyone's reply I will consider trying each approach from least concentrated to full doses. I've tried vinegar/water mix. Also alcohol/water mix. Both cleaned with a soft rag and nothing. Thanks everyone!!!

I have had good luck with vinegar/water mix. I've heard that it is safe to use a very fine steel wool also for stubborn water spots.

my thoughts exactly. Here in NC the acid rain is more concentrated. I used a product called CLR (Calcium Lime Rust) and sorta worked. Just be careful with your paint.
