No, it wasn’t that was just a generalization of the systems of most people in my area and my friends areas.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

As for the other post about the alternator's sucking. Yes they do. I bought my car in 2000, it had the original 10 year old alternator. I had 1 Fosgate 125.2 (50 amp draw, 500watts RMS no overrated bullshit CLASS A/B amp) and 2 Fosgate 12" XLCs in a huooge ported 6cu foot box.
I was banging at a stoplight aka at IDLE SPEED, and no shit, the alternator caught on fire. I was about 2 min from my house and rushed it home, started freaking out b/c my engine was going up in smoke. Grabbed the first thing I could think of for an electrical fire, FLOUR, yep FLOUR. Threw it all over the alternator and thankfully it put it out. It was a bitch getting all that FLOUR of of the engine bay but at least it saved my cb7.
Grabbed an alternator from a junkyard, took it to the local alternator man. Had him rewind it to 120amps, he stated that was as much as he could do due to it being a "small cased alternator". It produced 76amps at idle, 124amps at 2,000rpms. Haven't had a problem since but I do take it easy on my car. I don't turn it up as loud as it can go at stoplights, just being nice to my cb790 accord EX automatic F22A4 232,500

i just called my most local alternator shop and they said they can only beef up my alt 20 more amps. not enough so i found these:
160 amp for $170
170 amp for $180
Do they look legit and are they worth it? they both say direct drop in and 1 year warranty.
