Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    A6 cam with P12 ECU

I just put a p12 ecu in my lx coupe 5speed with an f22a1. Would an a6 cam give me more horse? Its seems there aRe so many combinations, wondering if this would be a good idea?

The intake manifold would give you more power than the cam would.

I'm assuming the intake mani would be easier to swap out also? And does the P12 work good with A6 components?

The P12 is meant for an F22A1, it does not support IAB's, so even if you swapped over an a6 or h23 intake manifold, the ecu would not know how to control the butterfly's, which would leave you connecting them to vacuum, which isn't always condusive to making the best power or drivability.

If you want to run the A6 cam, or the intake manifold from an a6 or h23, its better to stick with the PT6 that can control the butterfly's in the intake manifold.

Otherwise look into investing in a p06, getting it chipped, adding iab support, and a good dyno tune if you want to achieve maximum performance from all your engine modifications.

Here are the general parts to do a TRUE a1 to a6 conversion.

        A6 Camshaft
A6 Intake Manifold w/IAB black box
        A6 Exhaust Manifold & Downpipe
        A6 ECU (PT6)
        A6 Oil Cooler
        A6 Windage Tray

Oh and the a6 uses different valve springs, although a1's valve springs will work without issues for the a6 cam.

To activate the buttefly's you just need to add one wire to the stock ecu connector for use with the PT6, or any chipped ecu.

OK, thats what I'm talkin bout. Thanks guys. Not sure which route to take, I might just go with an H22. K24 sounds to expensive, but a6 conversion sounds doable.

The P12 is tuned for a BONE STOCK F22A1. That is all.

The A6 cam and intake manifold would most likely do best with the PT6 ECU.

People talk about the P12 like it's some performance upgrade... and it is, but only for a bone stock F22A1.

*Fixed* LOL, its also the only part I didn't do when I converted, as I have a bisimoto header to go in its place.

It is however handling my stage one cam, and IHE with no problems at all. Would I rather have a p06 and a dyno tune? Yes, but the p12 is usable for slightly more aggressive cams than the f22a1 only. ESPECIALLY since I got the Bosch Turdinum 2 plugs out of her. lol

I don't know if there's really any difference. I mean, there is... but to say the P12 is better with an A6 cam than the PT6 would be misleading, as there's nothing saying either way.

Oh, I'm not trying to say that at all, just pointing out that it is usable if the OP has one and can't put his hands on a pt6 at the moment. I wouldn't even want to guess which one would work better.

The difference between the two is likely so minor that anything felt would most likely be in the driver's head anyway. If an IAB system is used, PT6. No IAB, P12. That's generally the way I look at it.
