ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    White smoke after fixing TCU

I have a situation, I had the green "S" light on my cluster and my tranny wouldn't shiftj just stayed in 3rd gear, after i did some browsing I found that the problem was my TCU, so I pulled it opened it an notice it had some diodes and so burnt so I replaced them cleaned it up and reinstalled it. Great the green "S" was gone nd the tranny was working like if it never had any problems, GREAT...but after that I noticed that my idle was bouncing and there was a lot of white smoke and very bad smell coming from the exaust...What could have happed? Should I still replace the TCU, or is it something else? Please advice...Thanks in advance.

Actually I just did a complete head job on it, and everything was great til after I started messing with the TCU...lol...I made sure all the fluids were to their correct level, and the car was running great, I even pulled the plugs to the TCU and everything went back to normal, no white smoke, no bouncing idle, but unfortunately also no shifts with the tranny...lol...any other ideas?

where is this white smoke coming from?

naturally we all assume the exhaust exit... but are we right?

Keep in mind that the TCU has nothing to do with the engine itself... so these things are unrelated.

thats pretty much what i was getting at.
there's no way that anything tranny related would be able to expel smoke from the tailpipe.

Yeah man I understand that, that's my main concern cause it only smokes if i have it in neutral once it's in drive or reverse it stops...any ideas...

When you say your idle was bouncing, are you referring to the tach, or was the engine actually idling up and down? If it was just your tach that was bouncing, then I would replace your igniter (ICM or Ignition Control Module).

The engine itself is idling up and down...just to add, unfortunately I am having to get my crankshaft machined due to the fact that the rod bearing on piston 1 died on me, could that have been the problem? I will get the crank back next week and install everything back to test...will let u guys know if anything changed after that...thanks for all ur help.
