listen man, if they came up with that.........
it's a 5cylinder version of a vr6, so basically a vr6 with a cylinder lopped off.
It's actually a VR5, meaning inline V5, so the banks of cylinders are set in a v format, but inline-ish, very odd layout to be honest, not sure why VW did make it, lots of design issues to get around to make it work right, inherent unbalanced nature for a start, but it does make a very nice noise
