ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

New to forums, 1st time Honda Owner!

    Hey Everybody!

I'm Craig, from Wisconsin, recently purchased a 1990 Accord EX Sedan!
I was driving a super beat up ford escort wagon with an auto trans, heat barely worked, had a plastic rear window, and it was awful. I was cruising through craigslist and found an accord, 5 speed, 190k miles, little body rust on the rear quarters (wisco winters), and it seemed totally worth a look. met with the guy, drove the car, and was hooked! we went from the $1000 asking price down to $600, and I've never been so stoked on a car before. Based on its Wisco winter appearance, that's why the cars name/ build project is called "Rickety Cricket".

As far as mods go, I'm working on just doing interior stuff in the winter season, with plans to focus on exterior come spring/summer. so far its just the basic stuff (shift knob and boot, mugen pedal covers, wink mirror, tsurikawa ring as an oh shit handle on the passenger side). I have so many other ideas I would like to do. I will try to take and post as many pics as I can. also not really forum savvy, so hopefully I don't piss anybody off by posting duplicate questions or topics, still in the learning process!

Looking forward to being apart of the CB7 community!

    -Cheers

So what do you like about it compared to the Ford?

I actually like ford. my dad always had one growing up, so if I was toget a domestic vehicle, it'd be ford. I had an 01 focus zx3 with a 5 speed and really liked it. so nothing against ford. it was just time to part ways with the escort wagon, which was in really rough shape, body and engine.

as far as what I like about my cb7, I'd say way more options to modify, and from what I've experienced with my Honda and other Hondas I have been in/driven, way more reliable. hoping to be an all Honda car guy from here on out!

Welcome to the forum and honda world. You picked a great chassis to fall in love with. Not a lot of aftermarket support but a lot of support here and a lot of honda parts from other Honda’s work for our car.

            thanks everyone!

yes they do have ford escorts in the states. theyre not the greatest, but get the job done. and based on it being winter, the car looks terrible so no pics probably until it warms up and it gets a good clean.

and yes! looking forward to learning more about these awesome cars! so far, no complaints! just a lot of learning opportunities!
