If you could have one car that was released the year you were born, what would it be?

I got this from a post on the Grand Tour Nation Facebook page. Their post just said any car from the year you were born. I figured I'd make it more interesting and specify that the car must have been released as a new model (or a new generation) in the year you were born. Production cars only. No concepts. Exotics are allowed. You MAY pick a car that was not available in your home market (so JDM cars are allowed.)

I was born in 1980. There wasn't a whole lot of cool stuff coming out that year!
I think I'd have to go with the Audi Quattro.

Runners up would be the Isuzu Piazza and AMC Eagle (because it's just freakin weird.)

Wikipedia, as usual, makes life easy. Take a look at your year, and share what you'd pick!

I suppose yo boy would probably get another F body but a Trans Am instead of Z28. I already have knowledge of the chassis, plus there is something about the 3rd gen F bodies and AC/DC that go so well together.

      Answer:
      86 Trans Am

        without a doubt, a 1984 Camaro Z28 with silver sideskirts/lips.

Not a "new model" for that year, but I'm sure I could find some technicality (first year was released with a particular engine? lol idk)

If i was forced to adhere to the "new release" rule, id of course go with a C4 Corvette:

1999 Honda S2000, I just love how they look, and everyone rants about how fun they are to drive.

(I would never get one in yellow, I just thought the picture was funny)

I'd really liked to have been born a year earlier just so I can say a facelifted Fox Body Mustang coupe.

                  '88 Civic Si

... almost went with a Corrado, until I remembered that '88-91 Civic generation.

1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz; assuming the 1959 was actually introduced in 1958 I'd have to go with that one.

                            1983...

Technically the first CR-X was released in 1983 as a 1984 model. The first M6 was released in 1983 as well. Nothing else of interest shows up on the Wikipedia pages as a new model for 1983, although if I dug into generations of various models, I'd find something. The GTI was first released in the US in that year, although it wasn't a new model in the world.

I was born well into the malaise era.

Since it didn't hit US shores until 1983, I'd have to go with the Porsche 944. Unfortunately not the turbo model and a bit of a boat anchor, but it was still a Porsche.
