ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

tcu might have died and you are in limp mode, to not ruin the tranny don't drive the car for awhile

type tranny in the search area and read the threads

Jump the service connector and see if there's any blinking lights on the instrument cluster

With all the excellent electronics manufacturers in Japan, the CB7 TCU's are manufactured by OKI in Swanee Georgia. These are basically garbage and if you need a replacement Honda wants over $700 for what looks like maybe $35 worth of electronics. This is a "refurbished" unit that cost me like $120 and went up in flames . Of course, the seller will not honor their warantee. The unit we now have has 2nd and 4th gears plus reverse. Car is useable but has been reduced to a Hooptie status.

when you turn the car on, not start it, does the d4 light come and stay on for a second then go off? or does it just blink? if so i had the same problem out of my 1992 honda accord. what i did was simply started with the shift sylenoids and that did not help, second i decided to change the tcu and just went to a local u pull it/ scrapyard and pulled 1 out of a same year honda prelude and the harness plugged strait into the prelude tcu, the only problem with doing it that way is u take the chance of it not working as well but alot of places will give u a 1 week warranty on something like that and they are genarally fairly cheap i paid 25 bucks for mine and its lasted 4 n half years and is still shifting that ol car jus fine
