we have some massive rollable jack stands that i considered putting 4 of them 2 on each side with 4 4X4 posts and then just rolling the chasis out from under it, them strap the body to them untill i am ready to work on it.

I have sheetmetal and tubular framing metal on the way, for smooth floor pans and a tubbed rear end.

Very cool inspiration and would be unbelieveable to hand down from generation to generation. Great idea.

Lucky kid. What are your powertrain plans? Do you plan to keep it auto with a more modern overdrive transmission?

Banks twin turbo setup pushing over 1,000hp easily with all forged internals, alluminum heads with EFI convert and a ls1 managment system, rebuilt 2 speed powerglide, 4 linked rear end tubbed with a ford 9", alluminum drive shaft , and lowered spindles with 4 disk brake conversion.

Iam planning on doing the same thing with my son. I gave him my 65 t-bird for his first birthday. I bought the car when I was 14..... Hope to have it ready by the time he is 14

The floor pans have all got to be replaced, not a job thats to difficult, I'm looking at $400 for the pans, and I might as well do a body off restore, so i can get the entire frame and drive terrain in mint condition for the power it will have for a DD

I'll be following this build/restore with extreme detail. Lots of sentimental value behind it. Make me proud. The pictures alone bring alot of emotion. Long dream of a close friend/family member.

I'm only 26, but I came to understand and realize a passion is born early on, and if for any reason anything were ever to happen to me, at least my son and his heirs would have something to work on and strive forward with, and if all stays well, we can bond more than ever with the restoration and build.
I wish I had been given such a chance. But it's not about me, this is for my first and only son and the best experience and memories that a person like myself could ever hand down or give to him.

                            Thanks for the positive feedback.
