ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Plastidip is $20 per can at the store I get it at.

You would easily spend $200 plastidipping a whole car, when you could prep, sand and spraypaint it for the same price.

I plastidipped my grille the other day. I think it looks good. I chose to try plastidip for this project, because I want to see how well it withstands rock chips compared to spraypaint.

My RAYS are plastidipped white, though I'm peeling them off tonight. Held up fine and the one that I peeled came off clean with no harm to the original finish

There is a new Charcoal Grey plasti dip, if you use that and then hit it with 2 coats of Pearlizer plasti dip it looks like anthracite/gunmetal, not like the very light "gun metal" plasti colour that looks like primer. Looks sick. Must do this to my wheels after I rock them white for a month or two.

After reading the post, me and the wife followed the link and watched an hour of plasti dip youtube videos..and i have to say im impressed. To all those out there who say get an actual paint job, i agree, spend the money on a good paint-job you know you'll always be ok with and then by all means paint your shit lime green haha. I even joined the forums to ask a question.

See i have the beat to hell VIS carbon fiber hood, clear coats cracked and so far gone it was unsaveable..until now i guess. Its still a functional cf hood, just looks like shit. So, i might get their 40 dollar carbon kit and have my hood again!!! I know there will be ricers who wrap their fenders and bumpers, that's posing. The only thing i would do cf would be my roof to match a cf hood and trunk or stuff like trim like the guy above me. But, with more research i learned there's 3m carbon fiber wrap??

hell i could have just bought that, stuck it on and reapplied a coat of resin..bam!

Might create a thread later on on what i do and whether or not its successful i know if it is it'll help the thousand people typing "cf resin cracked" into Google search every month.

If this is thread jacking im sorry, im posting relevant stuff

I'm actually seriously considering doing this.. I just painted my wheels and I'm hooked. Thinking about going with gunmetal grey with black dye to get something more like a charcoal grey. Then glossifing it. I looked through dipyoucar.com's youtube and found the color I was looking for.

                            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfNZiOtV9ec

I think it will look good. Though I don't want to go that dark. I'm going to take of the door trim and front and back bumpers when/if I do it. So it shouldn't take much paint. Will definatly post pictures when/if I do it.

Seems like an off idea to me now if it's going to be dipped black because it seems that it will fade over time. I do want to see more examples though to persuade me to do it!
