No shit. I still even say to myself now "I really need a face shield for my grinder". I still don't have one.

The shot hurts all right, but just for a moment. The worst part is the iodine they put in your eye beforehand to prevent infection; no matter how much they rinse, it typically burns for the rest of the day to the point that I don't put my contact back in that eye until the next day. Many times I'll wear my patch most of the rest of the day because keeping it in the dark tends to reduce the burning.

Back in 08-09 when i was trying to open the headlights on the CB to tint the highs i was prying the housing apart with a screw driver and a quarter inch pice of glass broke and hit the goggles i had put on that day but never usually did. For sure it would of caused damage had i not had the goggles at hand and decided to put them on. I have been lucky in the sense that i had windex, oil, transmission fluid, old gas and throttle body cleaner get in my eyes and still have good eye sight not counting when i decided to learn how to weld using only brazing goggles as protection; this last one did make my eyes sensitive to light to this day. Not trying to one up or compete just a cautionary tale to the younger ones that might read these posts to protect as much as they can because eyes specially are not replaceable. Hopefully you get better on that front Paul, the few times i spoke and exchanged messages you seem like a very pleasant fellow just as well as a few others from here i have done the same with. Its interesting how we can establish a general bond with complete strangers just by a shared interest yet work and live next to people for years and not have anything to do with them.

              What makes it bionic?

Hooray! Last planned injection in the left eye this morning. Unfortunately, now he says the vitreous gel is separating from the retina in my right eye. He says I'll know when it completely separates because I'll start seeing some significant floaters. Could be tomorrow, could be two years. The joys of aging!

Damn Paul. All of that from a stinking roof shingle. I'm glad I wear my eye protection while I'm working.

Latest left eye issues are supposedly not from the injury (left eye), but more age related.

A shingle from tossed from a 2nd story roof can do a lot of damage.

Doctors seem to always attribute issues to the most obvious thing, if you are packing a few pounds it's your weight, if you are over 30 it's your age or your occupation unless it's a company doctor then its anything but occupation related. Back in August with my ankle i was released so that "I could look for work" but was advised to "Stay off my foot for a couple and up to four months" until it healed along with being handed down 50 Tramadol for the pain. My damn ankle still gets wonky every now and again when it dislikes certain angles of motion but at least i no longer have to drag it along.

Be safe man, god knows shit can go sideways in a split second.

Follow up visit today. Both eyes have remained pretty stable. Just one big loop shaped floater in the right eye - don't notice it too much any more.

That's seriously a blessing to hear things are good in the eye department.
