traction is on my list of todo's at the moment. im running these 18" rims with old dryrot 40 series tires on them. the tires were ok for what they were used for two years ago but now its time for the right set up.
the only thing holding me back is my 17's are in florida. i feel i need to run a 45 series tire for added traction but dont think they will fit on these 18's. so once i take that 1,200 mile trip to south florida ill grab the rims i need. im also still trying to decide on the best tire.

Im trying to move my build thread from the turbo page into here. but ill also look for pictures of the car i havent posted in the past.

Im still workin on that video. Im under a lot of blocked servers right now so youtube isnt readily accessible

im not sure if i posted some of these in the past but this is where they belong

this was two days after winning best of show at a car show.
the car was so damn low that i hit a rock in the road and it made this horrible sound so i looked up in my review and next thing i know boom. right int a cutlas.
          i think i may have cried. i was 16

this was a lil spray paint special

How'd u go about getting her that low? Musta been pretty cool to win a show at 16!
I use to have a jetta(i know, why own it? Lol) that sat that low on cut springs, it was a clunker tho she was no show girl. Lol

i started with cut eibach springs. it jus barley tucked 17's.
then i moved to air suspension. for many years i was plenty ok with low and slow. i slam everything i own. i even lowered my skateboard. i had a pretty nice air ride on it up until about a year or so ago. i stripped it all out so i could go fast. the sight of the car kills me now having a gap at the fender

I get that, I used to have an ef that scraped mud flaps just cruisin lol

Now I'm on Function Form type 1 coils but I live off on a rock road so I have to have a gap with my wheels, drives me bat shit crazy. I'm prolly gonna bit the bullet and drop her more come spring

I seem to be running into some problems.
Second attempt on the dyno and only made 355 @17psi
We seem to have the cams dialed in, ex cam is @ zero (4 degrees advanced from centerline) and IN cam is at -3(actual centerline)
Data log shows injectors are at 68%
And if u look at the chart u can see a big drop in power due to not being able to maintain that 17 psi.

A smoke test did not reveal any leaks, next I'll do a light pressure test of about 20 psi

But minus the boost leak I feel like I'm not making the power I should be and I'm not sure where to turn to as the culprit.

                        Any advice?

In the mean time here's a few pics
here's the best pull so far
here's the new rims before I Re painted
and a couple as she currently sits

Wow. That's a pretty huge turn around from where it was. Looking very performance oriented. For some reason those wheels remind me of TL Type-S wheels.

Thanks for the love. I think the appearance still had a long way to go but I'm liking the direction it heading

So to trouble shoot my boost leak I got a bit more creative,
First i used the rubber dust cover that came with the turbo to cover the air inlet and hose clamped it on.
Then I dialed my regulator on my compressor down to 25 psi.
Using a ball valve and a barb fitting I tied into my turbo housing where my waste gate hooks up.
Then while applying air pressure I used soap and water to check for leaks.
                              Found 10 leaks!
                              Some big some small.
Now that those are fixed she spools up a lot faster and I should have no problem maintaining that 17 psi.

Only problem I ran into was some how it messed up my fast idle valve. So when I started the car it had that crazy idle.
I used a license plate and made a block off plate and resolved that issue

Fingers crossed I can get some power out of her now
