SUSP : replaceing lower rear strut bushings.

so heres what u need to do to get these bad 20 year old bushings out...normaly the bolt that goes threw the bushing that holds the lower shock on rusts to the bushings cylender and when u go to losen them the hole bushing rips and u would have to replace them....so here it goes

    tools:
    1.14mm socket and wrench
    1.17mm socket and wrench
    1. big pry bar
    1. sawzall with metel cutting blade
    1.hammer and punch

ok so first u want to jack up car,use jack stands and block the fronts so the car wont go some were.now u take the tire off.
then u un bolt the two nuts on top of the strut(these are found in the car behind the back seat. u have to remove a giant piece of plastic on bolth sides to get them),next try to unbolt the bottom of the strut if it comes out lucky u if it doesnt then follow ths steps.this methed is used for those who are putting new struts in..and im not resonsibale for ur messup and crap.

    step one

unbolt the stut as best u can on the botton of it.
if no luck use ur sawzall and cut the head of the bolt off.

    step two
use ur huge pry bar and pry out the side u cut the head off and it should look like this.the inner bushing should come out with it.

    step three
take ur sawzall stick it in the center of the bushing and cut down threw it...REMEMBER THE BUSHING HOUSING IS ONLY 1MM THICK SO DONT GO SICK NUTS WITH THE SAWZALL!!!!
    should end up with this

    step four
take ur hammer and hole punch and knock out around the bushing housing till u can grab it with a pair of plyers or some thing..looks like this when out.

    step five
lube up the new bushing and tap or bang the new bushing in its new home.and ur done just put ur new shocks in and good luck..

i did this a few weeks ago when replacing my shocks. my bolt was pretty much welded on to the fork, so i ended up cutting it off. pita
