Hey fellas I know the lock up solenoid for our cars is the set closest to the top of the transmission but my question is are both solenoids used for the same lok-up function? ? Thanks in advance

The lock-up is/can be progressive. According to the OEM service manual there are five lock-up conditions: off, slight, half, full, and lock-up during acceleration. The two solenoids work in conjunction with one another to select the condition. Frankly, for the little time that I drive one of my automatics, it seems like it is usually either on or off; I guess it may step through the slight, and half relatively quickly so that I don't notice it.90 LX 4dr 5 spd 396,014 (sold 1/1/2022) - MRT: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=201450
