    BA4 88-91 Prelude seats.. who's done it?

I've searched all over thoroughly for more info on what exactly im going to have to do to install 88-91 3rd gen BA4 Prelude seats in my 1992 CB7 coupe, but i havent been able to find much info on the 3rd gen lude seats, only 4th gen seats. I already found a nice pair of 91 prelude si seats with the lumbar adjustment and im going to drive to go get them next weekend. In the main seat swap thread I saw maybe one or 2 people on here that have done it but no info on what ill need to do. I know I'm going to have to cut some metal and do some welding. The only info i could find on this particular seat swap was this thread on honda-tech: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...stall-2836754/

Has anyone here swapped 88-91 lude seats in their CB7? i used to have a few 90-91 preludes back in the day and they were the best seats I've ever sat in. Any insight at all would be helpful and very much appreciated!

Negative... i've done both 4th gen seat swaps (91 and 93 I believe) where one seat is whole and the other has the detachable head rest. But never these generation.

For accords 90 to 93 is our 4th gen obviously, but in regards to preludes 92-96 is 4th gen, and all 4th gen seats were the one piece without a detachable headrest as far as I know. 1991 was still 3rd gen 88-91 (what I'm trying to do) and the 3rd gen seats do have detachable headrests. However the 5th gen (1997-2001) prelude seats also have detachable headrests. Only the 4th gen seats were the one piece back design. So the prelude seats that you've installed that had detachable headrests, were they from a 97 or newer prelude or were they indeed from a 1991? Cuz it sounds to me like you have done this if they were 91... unless you meant the accords were 91 & 93. My bad im just trying to understand what you meant.

Here's what the 3rd gen prelude seat looks like (drivers seat in this pic)

        Yes...

I'll just agree with ya about 92-96 and 97+ , but i've still never done 3rd gen. Or I've never seen anyone do 3rd gen either. Best of luck... they look good in there.

Well I finally picked up the seats. I dont want to hack apart and destroy my factory seat rails in case i ever want to put them back in so I'm waiting til after saturday when i pick up a running & driving 93 LX 5-speed sedan that I'm buying for parts for $150 I'll use the seat rails from it lol. Also gonna pull the motor & trans so I'll get the new tranny i need along with a spare healthy motor, stripping everything i possibly can off of it, selling my buddy the pedals & shifter etc for a 5-spd conversion, and then scrapping the shell when im done. Should at least make my money back and a few extra bucks and get all the parts I need for free in the end

Running parts car im getting for $150 (209k 5spd, motor & tranny perfect):
          90 LX 5spd 2dr (2011-2014)
          93 EX 5spd 2dr (2013-2015)
          92 LX 5spd 2dr (2015-present)
