99 accord headlamp (plastic) restore question

6th gen accord, any help is appreciated

so im trying to restore headlamps on 99 accord, they are plastic
the headlamps are faded and output is getting low

-first i will wetsand from 600 up to 2000 grit
-but what product of polish should i use to buff with?
-finally what product to cover/finish everything with. i have heard some type of uv sealant/protector so that the yellow/fog look does not come back? any suggestions?

I used PlastX polish on my fogs, works very well. That and I used a Dremel with a buffer wheel.

      Maple50175 - you're annoying =P
Brandoncb7 - I don't mean to come across like an ass but I see why you irritate Aaron now.
JoshM - Crotch rocket = chick magnet.

Use Brasso... That stuff is intended to attack the oxidation that causes hazyness...

use 1000-2000 grit, u want to sand the faded clear, not the actual plastic
usea buffing compund, first, and finish with a polishing compund

high speed buffer is a good choice

also when ur sanding, sand from side to side, softly, not up and down

so everything seems clear to me except what to use as UV protection so the faded/fog look does not return.

You should be good for another 5-10 years so don't worry.
