ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Funny mechanical movement around intake when idling???

My car has been running really good with no signs of needing any urgent work. A while ago I noticed a faint sound of mech movement that sounded like a gear or rod being slightly moved back and forth. Now it has gotten louder. I only really hear it when stopped and idling. It sounds like something is attempting to work over and over while seemingly not really doing anything. It sounds like its coming from the throttle body or there a bouts.Overall performance has not seemed to diminish but I am afraid something will eventually go out and leave me or my wife stranded. Any ideas?????

    Thanks bunch!

    William

Have visual inspection on out side as well as inside. It could be a wrench left inside by some one.

I've seen a short 3/8 extension left behind on a flat six engine. That extension was going back and forth between the two cylinders and these cylinders only.

radiator fan getting ready to take a shit Have you actually been outside of the car, hood popped while it was running to try and find the noise, or just hear it in the cabin and youre guessing where the sounds emanating from

Yea had the hood up, and got under the car. The sound is deff coming from somewhere above in the center. It does sound like an relay or actuator going bonkers. Not sure what it could be? The sound is not coming from anywhere near the fans, why do you think it could be a fan going out? Is there something that is effected by a fan going out that can make this noise up closer to the fire wall?

          Thanks all. William

If the fan doesn't work, the cooling fan relay will continue to click slowly, trying to turn it on once the engine is warmed up

Man I am pretty sure you nailed the problem because one of my fans is out. It does not run hot but what your saying makes complete sense. When I get a new fan i'll know for sure, but I think it will fix it.

                Thanks, William

The passenger side fan is for the radiator the driver side fan is for the a/c condenser. So only one fan should be kicking on, the passenger side fan

Been a minute but I got that fan figured out along with needing to install a new ac fan, and I was having some issues with my ac/heat blower fan so just put one of those in as well. Seems like all the fans got tired at about the same time. I am still having the same problem go on with the clunking back and fourth in the throttle body/intake area though.?
