ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Best place to ground amp in trunk

What's up I going to be installing a 1,000 kicker amp in My cb7 and I'm wanting to know if anyone knows where the best place to ground it would be.

I would think that the bolt where the rear seatbelt is bolted would be a good spot.

I grounded my amp on one one the 3 rear strut bolts.( if u have a rear
Strut bar you would know what I am talking about) if u dont, then u would have to cut through the stock cardboard looking thing that goes all around your trunk. This is how you get access to your rear strut upper bolts. I try to ground whatever needs to be grounded to these strut rear ( or front) bolts
Cus I heard they get good direct ground contact.

^^^ I agree. The best is the strut. The rear seatbelt bolts are good, but the best is the strut bar.

Thanks guys I appreciate your help. I'll probably ground it to the seatbelt bolts because I don't want to cut anything.

You know like 12 of us already told the op that. Regardless though, if you dont want to cut, you can simply run it under and behind the cardboard covering the strut tower. But if your lazy or impatient like me, then youll do it to the seatbelt bolt. Just remember to sand it down to bear metal, and put some sort of anti rust goo. I just used grease.

Pull the carpet back and drill through the wheel well, sand clean and put a bolt in it. Reach through the wheel well and put a nut on it and tighten, then shoot it with a little black paint

just because one person makes a suggestion doesnt mean its the popular vote or most common answer. IF i were the OP i would gladly welcome repeat advice to influence my decision Mr. 2011 w/ 184 posts....
