ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    engine/head swap question

I got a 4g accord with the f22a in it.. non vtec.. Im going to put together a turbo kit for it, but I want to know a few things first..

first off.. should I do a SOHC VTEC head swap, and which one should I use? Im not going to build a g22 yet because I dont want to pull the whole motor..

MOST IMPORTANTLY.. what kind of power can I look at on a non vtec f22 (the stock motor in my car..)?

I have been looking to see what kind of power these things make.. as long as I can break into the 14's on the stock motor, I will be happy.. untill I finish the g22 build... Im going to be using a 14b turbo and the DSM manifold, and I will fab everything else.. I know its going to make power, but will I get more if I swap in another cheap f22 or maybe a sohc vtec head?

a VTEC F22 headswap is nothing but a downgrade... the stock non-VTEC F22 head flows much better to start with

stock F22As (IF HEALTHY!) are know 2 b pretty boost-friendly(when well TUNED) from their low compression. if you REALLY wanna look into a headswap, i'd recommend nothing else than the JDM F22B or H23(non-VTEC DOHC) but i'm telling you, the single cam will do fairly well...

i'd check out HondaFan's Red project to get an idea of what power the F22A is capable of and also the white project to see what available for it also

People of cb7tuner, this AUTO is NOT a joke. It has impressed ME, the hater of auto's.

He's wanting to go turbo so hondafan81's would be no good to him, both of his are NA. But yeah the f22b (f22 vtec) is a downgrade, the f22a head does flow much better. But to get an idea of what the f22a is capable of check out this LINK.
