92-93 coupe to 90-91 sedan trunk swap

hey everyone just wanted to share some pics of my trunk swap that i did today, let me know what you think, thanks.

first i was starting to take lights and wires off...



next to take off the bolts to take off the trunk, here's off already


i somehow managed to bolt on the key thingy to open the trunk and to actually work,not the best but its functional


i used one bolt of the ones that hold the trunk in place because they're longer and the fit perfectly


and wuala the final product hope you guys like it,let me know what you think. also would love to make this ones red clears later on but that will be another project.later.

and you fur sure need a drop to tuck those wheels

I know that I will custom make them........like one guy here did but only one side then he changed them. And I'm working on the drop........hopefully if God provides me work for this coming two weeks ill be able to

I've just given up on finding a 9293 coupe trunk. I found a white one, and I even told the guy I'd pay him like $150 and swap over my trunk and tails to his car, which he was selling, and then he just turned into a total asshole, so I told him to stuff it after he said "nah, I like my car the way it is, I don't want to alter it." You're selling it for $600, why would you care anymore?

Anyways, trunk swap looks sweet I'm jelly.

Man that sucks I paid 50 for mine and if I have had waited untill next weekend, then I would've been able to get it for half the price but oh well.........there were too coupes,the one I got and a white one, Wich is probably still there. And thanks for the compliment

And how do we unplug the wires from the trunk?

You don't need to remove the lights from the trunk to unplug the wires, all you have to do is unplug the wire harness from the lights and fish it back through. The hard one is the trunk latch, unscrew the latch and then push it aside to turn the plastic clip retaining the cable rod.

And yes this is a very old thread, there are a few DIY trunk swap threads too with more information.

That might even border on selling...

Coupe trunks look best on coupes. 9293 coupes with 9293 sedans look good as well.

IMO it doesn't matter what trunk you have

Its what you have on the trunk

Sedan trunks without spoilers look fine
Coupe trunks without spoilers are kinda ugly

Coupe trunks with spoilers > sedan trunk with spoilers

I want to swap to a coupe trunk
