ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The oil pressure switch is located on the back of the block, under the intake manifold. If its blinking, and your oil level is at the proper level, and the pressure switch is not bad, then it means that your oil pressure is too low. What viscosity oil are you using?

I just bought the car last friday, so I don't know what type of oil they were using.

How much did you spend on the car? Also was the light on or off before you bought the car? If it was on when you bought it,

          1. Check Fluid Level
          2. Check/clean connection to oil pressure sender
          3. Replace oil pressure sender and/or hook up an oil pressure gauge.

I bought it for 1700. The oil light hasn't been on at all. I have already drove it to Orlando and back, and I have been driving back and forth to Tampa to work. All of a sudden this morning it started blinking. I believe the cold weather has something to do with it. It was 40 degrees this morning. Can I see the connection from the top of the motor?

But to answer your question, probably not. The oil filter is difficult to see and that a bit bigger. You'll probably have to go from the bottom.

It is easier to access to oil pressure switch with oil filter off because it is just above that. My car's oil warning light blinks if I leave the ignition switch in on position for a certain period of time, like long enough to re-fill your fuel tank. From that position if I start the car, the light blinks like a flasher, regardless of engine RPM.

To avoid that blinking, I have to turn the key to "off" position and then start the engine.

If the blinking is in relation with the engine RPM, you may have a problem with the engine like, worn oil pump or worn bearings.

                    Good luck with your car,,,,

I bought a cb7 a few days ago. I have been driving the car these past couple days with no problems. On my way to work earlier the red oil light started blinking. So i turned right around checked the dip stick it was low so I added 1.5qts and the blinking stopped. I'm hoping its something simple car has 259xxx miles. the car does seem to be leaking from a few places. Can it just be from the low oil or is it a worn bearing?
