EXT: Home Made STUBBY Antenna 4 Less then $10.00

I WENT TO THE GOOD OLD PARTS STORE AND GOT MYSELF A CHEAP $9.99 FLIMSY ANTENNA. MY POWER ANTENNA LIKE MOST OF OURS DOES NOT GO UP OR DOWNFULLY AND ITS NOT WORTH TH HASSEL OF REPLACEING THE MAST I TRYED AND THINGS GET BROKEN VERY EASILY DUE TO THE AGE OF THE PLASTIC.

TOOLS NEEDED: ONE DREMEL TOOL WITH CUT OFF WHEEL!

HERE IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AFTER YOU HAVE TAKEN IT APART:

FIRST THING THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO DO IS TAKE THE MAST AND TAKE THE INARDS OUT OF IT AND IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS:

AFTER YOU HAVE DONE THAT YOU NEED TO CUT BOTH SECTIONS TO YOUR DESIRED LENGTH LIKE I DID WITH MINE:

NOTE: I CUT MINE DIRECTLY IN HALF BECAUSE I LISTEN TO THE RADIO ALOT AND STILL WANTED SOME RECEPTION FOR IT, BUT DO AS YOU PLEASE BECAUSE ITS YOUR CAR

THE NEXT STEP IS TO REASEMBLE EVERYTHING LIKE THIS:

THE NEXT STEP WOULD BE TO RIP OUT THAT NOISEY CLICKING POWER ONE AND PUT THIS ONE ON.

good idea. if you were worried about reception you could install a signal amplifier

this DIY looks great with Metra's rubber antenna. you can cut it in half (or even further), then chisel a tip, and sand it down with 200+ grit. i'll post pictures later. definitely worth the $7.50 i paid for it, and the reception is fine.
                              My pictures/photos will return soon...
