ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Steal or Deal? - EX Rear Disc assy., X-member and sway + emblems, fender and flaps..

So i just got back from a new friends place where he has a 93' EX that he's attempting to part out. After talking it over for a bit, we came up with this list..

EX Rear Disc conversion - $50 (comes with EVERYTHING)
EX Rear Crossmember and Swaybar - $30 ACQUIRED
    Left Front Fender - $10
    Mud Flaps - $5
    All emblems - $5

    Total - $100

Any hardware that i come across i can have for free..never hurts to have an OEM nuts and bolts can in the garage

So what do you think? Steal or Deal..Did i get a good price on everything individually or as a bundle?

p.s. If anyone in NW Washington state wants an F22A6 (runs perfect) with only 151k miles mated to an H2U5 tranny, PM me.. He's selling it for CHEAP. He may also want to part it out for those of you interested in A6 parts from around the USofA...
If no one claims it soon he's goona sell the tranny to me for $100..maybe less

I saw the parts list and was about to ask you how much you wanted for shipping.....
Sounds like a good deal, especially if you get the motor and trans for $100!

Nah dude, he wants somewhere around $350 for the motor and trans together. But if he doesn't find a buyer soon, he's willing to sell me just the trans for $100...possibly less.

Yeah man, this guy is really generous and just a great person all around.

He just wants to make a little cash before he junks it.

But anyways, im in the middle of installing the new x-member and sway, but ive hit a snag...

One of the lower control arm bolts wont come loose. Ive already got the nut off, and made sure the arm itself moves inside the crossmember, but that damn bolt just wont budge. It already destroyed some cheezy 9/16 socket that was made in malaysia. fuckin bastard wont turn. I suspect its rusted and has become one with its respective housing. I tried hammering it out, prying it out, and cursing at it...so far nothing has worked. So ive hit it with some PB Blaster and its sitting now. I would move on, but i need my car in the morning for work...so if i don't get this one off, i'll reassemble it and try again later. Any one got an idea as to how to get it out?

                here's some pics:

that is the rear alignment adjuster bolt - VERY COMMON for them to get completely seized!

the way i got mine off was to bend apart the sides of the bracket to make room on either side of the control arm, and used a hacksaw to cut through the bolt.

you might be able to get the remainder of the bolt out from the bushing, but you might also need to actually replace the bushing, or just find another control arm for that side somewhere else.

other than that, id say that price is definitely a steal. anywhere you find a rear crossmember, its almost guaranteed to have 1 rusted adjuster.

youll need to get that bolt & a new nut from the dealership (or the car that you find a replacement control arm from?) as it is a special bolt with a wider shank. of course after all of this you are going to need an alignment anyway, so any work that you need to do to the front end (balljoints, bearings or tie rods?), do that now.

                    good luck

                      Thanks for the info bro!

I have all the hardware that was on the EX crossmember that i just got out of the other CB. Im going to get the entire rear ass'y, so getting a new/old bushing and/or control arm wont be a problem.

Hopefully i wont have to cut it out, but if i do, ive got my ass covered.
