    Opinions on Honda Pilot---

Ok so i know like once every few months im making opinion threads on vehicles (TL, Land Rover, 07 Accord, CR-V etc)

I guess it is because there are a lot of people with different experiences and owned vehicles on here.

So the jist is, the wife is looking at either the CR-V or the Pilot.

She really likes the Pilot for the 3rd row, which the CR-V doesn't have.

We have read plenty of reviews and such and we are trying to find a day to go test drive one...

in the meantime, does anyone here own one?

    Fam member?

Have you ridden in a a newerish one?

    How is the space?

    Comfortable?

SO yea hit me up with opinions on your experience with the Pilot.

    kthxbi

They ride nice. But IMO a Pilot is in many ways no diff from and Ody or a Ridgeline. I personally think it's all based on the look you want. They are all are nice Pilot gets the worst Fuel Eco though.

The current gen is decent.... Not sure how far you would go from Honda but personally Id go with other brands/models before the Pilot if you are looking new or 1 or 2 years old..

          This is a confusing statement.

Imo, it is totally different then those two platforms.

A crossover is not a truck is not a minivan....?

Idk maybe it is just me.

And check your facts, Ridgeline gets the worst fuel eco out of the 3.

Pilot is rated slightly better then the Ridgeline.

Ya i love the new ones.

Ehh if we don't get the Pilot, it will be the CR-V.

Kind of a Honda family here lol.

idk man.. for the same price range, i'd rather get an Odyssey in the EX-L trim.

If you're looking for a third row of seats, i'd just go ahead and get the van because according to Edmunds, it gets better fuel economy. The only thing that the Odyssey doesn't have is the 4 wheel drive.

I should have mentioned that 4wd is necessary.

And the wife doesn't want a van.

The pilots are very nice. A friend of mine has one and loves it. It is comfortable even for me at 6'4" to ride in the back seat because the seatbacks recline. It's a great all around vehicle and has a decent towing ability also. He's used his to pull numerous kinds of boats and it does very well. The CR-V's are nice too, but aren't built as tough IMO, I've worked on both types of vehicles in the body shop and you can tell a difference. You may save some money going the crv route, but if you can swing it I say get the Pilot.

Now that's the kind of response i need lol.

So he is 6'4....did he ride in the 3rd row?

Im not sure if all of them have a 3rd row, or just the new ones....

i need to check that, because a lot of the ones around my area seem to be only two rows(unless the 3rd row is down).

Yea the wife wants it for the comfort of having room so the kids can be separated when we do long drives.

I want it because the 4wd will help in snow and i plan to use it for any off-road adventures i plan on doing lol.

And cargo space(at 89 cu ft) and pulling capacity, is on point.

Oh.. In that case i'd probably get the Pilot then. My mother has a 2006 CRV and i feel cramped in that thing compared to my 09 Civic. I'm a 215 pound 5'11" guy btw...

I don't blame you for wanting 4wd. My mother didn't realize that the CRVs were offered with one and she basicall went straight to the one she wanted, sat in it, took it for a test drive and then bought it. Luckily for her it's good on gas because she probably does about 1000 miles a week traveling on the freeway to work. She paid it off back in April and said that she wished she would have bought something roomier back then. The CRV is easy to work on too, it sits higher up off the ground, the engine bay is nice and roomy. Honestly i dont' think i've ever had to replace anything except your basic fluids. The only thing that caught me off guard was it takes those expensive iridium plugs...
