Post 4WS on Accord

You know there is 4WS system on Honda Prelude, among others, but this system exists on certains versions of our Accords too, particularly in Asia and Europe.

On Accord, it's the mechanical 4WS, the same as the Honda Prelude 3rd gen.

Firstly, how it works?

And to finish, the 4WS in action on an Accord

If I find some other links, pics or others... I won't fail to edit the post

Ya, let's just sticky this!

What is interesting is that they seemed to have simply removed the rear subframe and replaced it with this.... motor thing. Very interesting indeed, I'd love to see one on a lift.

I am very curious how it fits with the gas tank there... that's the same area where supposedly a rear (4WD) differential could fit? hmmmmm

um...no.

firstly, everything new was posted in the other thread the OP referred to, not this one, so there is no reason to sticky this one.

secondly, the center tunnel is raised for 4ws from the factory, so it's not a simple rear subframe swap.

I feel like this should have been a more common option based on how horrible the turning radius is on these cars.

The 4ws is different in many ways. Check my thread link in sig. For pics of suspension rear steering rack etc. Fuel tank is a gallon smaller, as its notched for the steering propshaft. The steering feel is like a cb with a quick ratio rack when normal driving, manovuring makes it feel like a shorter car.but can catch you out with swinging over hangs.
