ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

turbo intake manifold suggestions cr help

i've been lurking on this forum for a long time. i've done several builds on b series and mitsu 4g cars. galants, eclipse, really i'll turbo just about any 4 cylinder. usually i stick to low compression aftermarket cast pistons (8.5) and stock rods as i know how to tune so i don't mind cast pistons (with thicker ring landings) and boost stays low (15psi and below). i've recently bought an f22a6 engine that was supposed to already have been fully built. the only thing it really had was a balance shaft elimination kit and custom je pistons, 86mm bore high(er) compression. i don't want to break the rods loose to take measurements to see what compression they really are. since they are custom, je can't help me as there's no etching. these are on pt3 rods. they look to be somewhere in between 10.6-11.6 any opinions? my last 12.5 pistons had a lot higher dome, so they can't be too high compression.

thats my side question. my reason for posting is to ask what intake manifold are people running on their turbo f22. my last high compression f22 build was the h23 upper on an f22 lower with iabs functioning. i don't trust iabs with forced induction, nor do i think they'll help. i always went aftermarket on gsr intakes to be rid of iabs but the only one i can find for the f22a is a disgusting looking obx intake on ebay. are turbo guys running deleted butterflys, gutted iab plates, or running them functioning?

pictures are posted for maybe someone helping me identify cr of those pistons and to show i'm not wasting anyones time- that is the turbo being used on the ground (ignore the BEGi fmu, it was used on a project a while back, i use crome to tune). the last one is my other personal teg. 300hp on stock internals (arp rod bolts).

Good luck with the pistons; not sure what to tell you but they look to be under 12:1.

I don't think I've ever seen an F22A run any other manifold but the H23A1s or like you said gutting the butterflies. However, options do exist. Here are two:

Evolution F2H Adapter Plate coupled with a Skunk2 H22A Pro Series Manifold.

    Golden Eagle H23A1 Turbo Manifold

    Good luck.

I ran the f22b(DOHC) intake manifold with working iabs. However on my current project I am gutting the IM and removing the butterflies. There aren't many options out there for this engine. But I honestly think our IM work perfectly fine.

The compression ratio of those pistons is relative to stroke, compression height, bore size, dome volume, gasket thickness and the combustion chamber volume. To say you have pistons that are " xx compression ratio" is below the level of expertise you have already proven you possess.

Those pistons appear to be around the 4-5cc mark which would put it above the 12cc mark. You're never going to know for sure unless you make an impression in modeling clay and squirt liquid in from a pipette or syringe and measure it.

With the pressures you're likely to see in a boosted high-compression build, how confident are you in the rods holding up to the combustion forces? Tuning goes a long way, but forged rods are cheap insurance. Especially because even the cheap ones can be had with ARP bolts.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!
