nice writeup except for the grease part. Can that lithium grease withstand high temps? NAPA has this stuff comes in a purple packet that's called extreme temp ceramic brake lube, its good up to 2000 degrees.

Thats the only thing I would suggest, because brakes can get really hot.

It's easy to clean the slide pin but how do you clean the slide pin housing? I don't want to spray brake cleaner in there and if it remains then it could break down the new grease I put in there.
I bought this grease call Sil-Glyde from Napa, it suppose to be safe for rubber boots and good for brake slide and pads.

        Thanks.

          You just wipe it off

No need to clean in the housing, just put new grease on it and shove it in. it will be fine.

Im kind of hesitant on using lithium grease on brake parts like the slides. The stuff gets real gummy and hard when it gets hot and drys out. In the past i just used copper containing antiseeze with no problems..yet. But that dries up and gets tacky too, So I got some high temp synthetic brake grease in a cup, should last a long time instead of those stupid packets for a dollar. just my 2¢
