ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Well the f20b dohc reclines at like 7800 rpm, I don't think it went far over that but yes some damage was caused and I did have some shavings in my oil when I did the change after that. Maybe it was just the oil pump that got damaged? Hopefully. But I'll have to wait till I get my other car back to inspect it. I know I should fix what's broken and I didn't think about a band aid possibly making things worse really. It's my daily atm haha. But other than the vtec going in and out at the rpms and the light coming on for like 5 seconds on first start up and randomly when the rpms are below 500 for a second it runs just fine. I do need to do an oil change again which will be in about 4 weeks. Would anyone recommend running a Luke 15 30 or 10 40 oil in the mean time?

If the low oil pressure is because of damage, and thus excessive internal leakage, shimming or putting a stronger spring in isn't going to help at low speeds. The oil pressure is determined by how much resistance there is to the flow that the pump is generating at any given speed. The more clearance (in the pump or bearings, etc.), the less pressure it takes to deliver that set amount of oil flow. The spring is there to limit the maximum pressure. A heavier weight oil should help with pressure at lower engine speeds (up to the pressure relief setting). This is dependent on where the internal leakage is; if the pump is bad, then it is simply bypassing oil around itself and not delivering as much to the engine. If the leaks are close downstream of the pump, then the further points in the oil supply passages will get less oil.
