White Smoke, Burning Oil ... new motor?

lol ... I could use a gooood f22-a6 if anyone has one laying aroun ...

    I'm burning about 2 quarts a month. I get a white/blue smoke upon startup
but ONLY at work, after she has sat for 8-10 hours ..she NEVER (cause I look)
ever does it first thing in the morning leaving home ..

I read up on "white-smoke" and got head-gasket, plug seals, etc ...
Gonna have my mech take a look ...I also read a thread where the member was having the same problem
but he mentioned when he turned his heater to a certain click, that the smell entered the cabin ..
THIS ^ is exactly what has happened with me ... ug!

So maybe I want an H23?

How many miles on the engine? Does the smoke smell like oil or sweet like anti-freeze? Head gasket and all seals above that is still easier than swapping the engine.

If it’s on start up that sounds like it could be the valve stem seals

Thanks guys, I've kina narrowed it down to the plug seals ... no leaking on the motor,
no oil anywhere ... my dizzy is a lil wet tho lol .. gotta check that seal ...

Paul, if I told you how many miles I had on this motor, not sure anyone would believe me lol! :thumb:

somewhere just past 600,000 .. it came out of my 4 door, it's an f22-a1 ..

The plug seals don't leak into the engine. They allow oil from the engine to get pushed by pressure in the crankcase into the plug wells. I would say more likely valve stem seals. The shorter (relatively) time at work may allow oil to leak past the seals and into the cylinders, but not drain past the rings back in to the crankcase, so the oil is there to burn when you leave work. The longer time at home at night may allow the oil to drain more completely from the cylinders so you don't see it in the morning.

600,000 is a LOT of seat time. Although I wonder how many total miles I've put on all the various vehicles I've had over the years.
