Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Headgasket

Sooo im leaking alot of oil, tryed a sealant, not happening either.. its by the timing belt cover/corner of manifold so im guessing its the head gasket. since im forced to change it lol i wanted to know if i should do some head work. any ideas? not trying to do a full build cus its only the head, but somthing for the block to handle. also getting a h23 mani.

Any advice would be great thanks.

Its probably not the head gasket because oil will not pour out of it... Pull the belt covers... One of the seals probably backed out.. Cam, balancer, etc.. Pretty common...

Your description is not very good but I am assume you do not mean value cover gasket but are saying head gasket... So I am over past that.

I would change your cam crank balancer and oil pump seals when I have It apart.
It is very very very unlikely that your head gasket is leaking oil. What you might be seeing is oil that is leaking from your cam seal dripping down and running along the seam between your block and head. It could just be something as simple as your valve cover gasket it not set right or its bad.
do you know what kind of gasket it has? MLS or the cheaper graphite gasket? MLS comes stock.

get your mind off the head gasket idea. I would replace all of the things I named 1st.
If you are going to not listen I would use this set > http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...Q5fAccessories

I used the same one on my old cd5 when I had to put a new head on so I put a f22A head on with this set. Its good quality stuff.

recently did a headswap, and it appears there was an oil leak from the cylinder head. valve cover gasket was new a few months ago, and when i removed the timing covers, it was clean from oil (no leaks from the seals).

                  Be Clean

yeah dude my head gasket is bad also and its leaking coolant out the front of the block
I thot I say stupid shit on here but this tops everything I have said
who else thinks this is bull shit coming from a nube who does not know what the hell he is talking about.
The only way it could happen is if there is a big ass crack or scar in the block between the oil passage and side of the block and I doubt that very seriously and if there was I would have thot you would have say it putting your head on.

Dude just pressure wash everything really good, and let it idle for an hour, you will find the source.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
