    MNdude07 : 1990 Honda Prelude SI

She's rough on the outside but the motor is in good shape and the interior is very nice. I'll have more pics as I progress through this build. These photos are of the car right when I got it, no cleaning or anything. The car sat undriven about 6 months before purchase.

I was thinking its more parts to break, makes the car heavier, and the car feels odd. Traditional driving dynamics are out the window.

It's a newer Si, which is good. This thing has the potential to lay frame, too.

I decided two things about the civic:

It is completely ugly and no matter how fast it is, looks like a joke.

The weight that the prelude has over the civic can be made up for with its significantly better suspension geometry.

I really, really like the prelude's seats too.
Thanks for the nice comments everyone! Now i'm off to work on it and clean it more to get it flog...i mean driveable.

As of now the car is in my grandpa's garage, and tomorrow I will begin disassembly and making this hooptie into something. I'll try to get some interior photos now that I've cleaned the inside some...its not perfect yet though.

This Lude's look amazing, of the best looking IMO.
Just be careful with the B21, it's supposed to burn oil easy due to the FRM cylinders buring out the rings from what I've heard.

The external block dimensions had to stay identical (although there was increased external strengthening and webbing on the B21) to the B20A5 block so Honda called upon Saffil to create a thin but strong cylinder liner called FRM (fiber reinforced metal) which basically consisted of a carbon fiber matrix, aluminum alloy, and aluminum oxide to make a very strong cylinder sleeve. The sleeve is so strong, in fact, that it wears out the piston rings causing low compression numbers, severe smoking, and high oil usage. It is possible in many situations to merely replace the worn rings in order to revive the motor's former output. Many machine shops will not attempt to re-hone or re-bore the FRM sleeves, as this type of sleeve will de-laminate during machining operations.

Thanks man! And yeah, it does burn some oil...that's ok though. That motor won't be staying in the car. I'll be swapping in the f22a1 from my wrecked cb7 and doing an all motor build with it.
