Old Koni RSK Kit with Vogtland 957075 spings

Greetings. So I was on the verge of purchasing Koni Yellows and some springs when I ran into this old discontinued stock of a "Konni Red Kit" from the early 2000's. I talked to Koni and got ahold of Lee Grimes who was there when they put this kit together. He had some info on it like what spings it had( the Vogtlands). So I thought I'd bring it here and see if anyone had these in the day. I'm looking to do daily driving with some sportiness but nothing too aggressive. So I was figuring these would be a good option. Does anyone know what the fixed compression and rebound on soft and hard is on these Koni RSK's? And the Vogtland 957075 gave me a low and high number on the spring rate,(228-428 front & 108-280 rear), and I have no idea how to compare or interpret that.
Any ideas thoughts or feelings are appreciated. I'm holding out for some input before I make a purchase so Thank You.

Are you considering putting them on a cb7? Installing springs and shocks from a completely different vehicle is a terrible idea, as is buying and installing used suspension.

The RSX has a mcpherson strut front end, which is a completely different design, so it wouldn't fit even if you tried.

      Hey steelbluesleepR.
Thanks for your response. "RSK"(Labeled by Koni, stands for "Red Suspension Kit") not RSX. This is a shock and spring kit put out by Koni for 90-93 accords. Trust me I spoke to Koni and checked all part numbers. This is old new stock, never used as well. I actually bought the kit yesterday. This is My forth CB7 and not my first suspension. I'm no pro, but I'm not that thrown off either, lol. I just was curious if anyone had experience with this kit released in the early 2000's. I'm planning on setting the adjustment at a half turn or one whole turn. Has anyone used the Reds in the past? Some experience would be helpful with the amount of dampening to try first. Also, they have three settings for the circlip/spring seat and I plan on starting with the top perch. I'll post some updates maybe during and definitely after the install. Thanks.

Hmm personally Ive never used that set but from what I remember those Koni reds were a step down from the Koni sport yellows and unlike those shocks the reds aren't adjustable.

How did you find the N.O.S parts?

As far as I can remember. The reds on full stiff is about half of the yellows on full stiff. They go as soft as the orange str and are only adjustable off the car meaning you have to remove the spring every time you want to stiffen or loosen the dampening. As for the springs I’m not sure at all what spring rates they have or drop rate.

              Hey HenRoc.
Yeah they're adjustable off the car. I believe they're not as aggressive as the yellows. I found them by pure accident. A place out in New York had one kit left.

Man thanks for the response! That was just the info I was looking for. I'm hoping to set it where I'll like it first try. Pulling all four off to readjust would be nice to avoid. So I'll probably shoot for somewhere between one quarter to half stiff on them. They have the three perch settings too and I plan on starting off on the top one. The springs are a 1.8 drop all 'round and the spring rate is 228-428 front & 108-280 rear. Vogtlands use two numbers,(low and high) so I'm not sure how to compare it to other springs I know that have one number.

If the price is right I'd consider it, but honestly Yellows are worth the cost.

gloryaccordy I'd agree with the yellows being worth it. The adjustability on the car vs the Reds only adjustable after tearing down the whole suspension! Lol. Yeah the price was pretty good. $400 for a Koni and Vogtland spring set. Howerver Tunersports had all 4 Koni sports for $500 plus a $50 rebate from Koni. So I really would only save about $300 from the Sports and same springs.
That being said I already bought the red kit now and I'm pretty happy with the decision,(until I think about it to much! Lol). I think theyll work for me.
Still any more experience on the amount of dampening would be helpful.

Here is the site I purchased them from.

If that is the actual spring rates then I would start off on full soft. Those starting rates are almost identical to the neuspeed sport springs. The reds are the same as the str orange ones. The neuspeed sport and Koni str springs are a pretty good match to began with. The only issue I ever had with them is that the springs were a little to stiff for the shock. This was mainly in the design of the orange koni. The reds were designed closely mirroring the yellows. The neuspeed sport springs and yellows on full soft turned out to be way to much shock for the springs. My honest opinion is to leave them on full soft. Also those vogland are extremely progressive meaning they have a lot of travel. The lowest number is barely compressed and the highest is on full compressed. Your shock will help stop that progression.

Hey Thanks again, 92smokeaccord. The spring rates are what Vogtland gave me. That's all really useful information. Having those comparisons is just the sort of info I'm looking for.
So really you think "full" soft with that progressive spring will be enough? With the reds on full soft, I had been under the impression they were closer to the STRs. But really full soft would be a good starting point to see how it reacts. Also with the perches, I figured I should just start off on the highest. Any thoughts on that? With a 1.8" drop, a 16x7 wheels with +40 offset on 205-55-16's.

FedEx has currently lost the Koni Kit. I'll post if it turns up.
But at least the wheels made it safe from Malaysia. 16X7 +40

Well, they made it to the house today. Thank You, everyone, for your input and suggestions. I'll keep an eye on this thread if someone else has anything to add. The 93 coupe goes into my garage this weekend. I expect it to be 2-3 months. I'll be doing a lot more than the suspension and hope to make some posts on the progress. CB7Tuner has been invaluable to me through the years and continues to be a great community! Thanks, everyone!

The highest perch will actually raise your car. The middle perch is neautral and the lowest I believe is .5 inch drop. Honestly the last perch will probably be your best bet. 2inch drop is not at all harsh even with those wheels. I believe you will sit with a 2 finger gap on the lowest perch all way around. Should look good and be very streetable
