ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Wheel and tire package Q's

I'm in the process of finishing up a 5 lug conversion, with 97 odyssey knuckles and 98 prelude rear hubs. With that said I am in the market for some new wheels.

I want a more aggressive figment and then I will adjust to the final ride height. For fitment I'm thinking the following:

    Wheel: 17x8+35
    Tire: 225/45r17

What are y'alls thoughts Any problems with this set up? (I'm currently stock all around).

Will I have to pull/roll? If so about how much? (I'm not opposed to it).

If I do pull/roll would I cut out the "HondaRust" (r.qr panel) and weld before or after the pull? I know the bodywork/bonds will have to come after.

And feed back would go along way!! Thanks

    ✌️

225/40/17 would probably be a better tire size than 225/45/17.
225/40/18 must have thrown your speedometer off by a bit! That's 3.6% greater diameter than stock.

It did, acceleration suffered also but i used to drive like a maniac either way . Actually come to think of it i also used 225/45r17 on the Accord as well as 215/50r16, no issues with either one of them. You should also look at 215/45r17, fits wheel width in 7-8 inch range and are cheaper while offering a greater variety.

I wanted to run 225/40/17 but I'm having he hardest time finding some good tires. It's going to be a non winter car. And I have a DD.

I want to run Firestone fire hawk Indy 500 tires (had great reviews on 1010tires).

But if any one has any better ideas I'm open!

Ok good to know. I was worried about stretching the tires. I saw some 205s I think on a 8". Looked SUPER stretched.

I've ran 17x8 +35 on my CD. with 215/45/17s. On a CB, it won't sit quite so sunk, since the CD has wider fenders. It fits way better on a CB in my opinion. I'd definitely roll the fenders, at leas the fronts to be safe. You don't want the fender guard tabs to catch the tire and destroy the whole fender.

Also: 225/40/17 is a unicorn size. Just one size no one really makes. There are a few that do, but they aren't good performance tires.

I had some 215/45/17s that I was going to run on my CB, but they never made it on the car. I ran them on my Fit, though. On my 17x7.5 +38 wheels, they were perfect. Beefy, without having too much sidewall flex (I forget what model they were, but they were Dunlop performance summer tires.)

I am running 215/45/17s right now.
I believe it works out to be the exact same diameter as a stock size tire on steelies. When I compared them at least
