    Auto tranny delaying to engage.

Hey guys, well for the longest time my transmission has taken a while to engage into gear. I will start the car, shift to reverse but the car wont move and the "r" is not lit up on the dash. Then after a second or two it lights up and i can move. This also happens when putting it into drive aswell. I was wondering if any of you guys have had the same problem. Any input is welcome

Tcu maybe idk. Shift solenoid possibly. I also have a problem taking mine out of P when its cold. What I mean is the stick is hard to move out of P. Anyone with ideas on what that is should plz just give me a quick word without destroying the topic. Give the OP an answer first.

        Check your ATF level.

Use a test light on the solenoids on the transmission.

        Try swapping TCUs.

I doubt it is a cable problem, but a binding cable may be Mishakol129's issue.
