That fork is dangerous to the ball joint if your not careful!

I used this method to remove the ball joint: Honda painless ball joint removal

I didn't see anyone state this yet.

But an issue I had when removing my LBJ was that the nut was spinning with the balljoint. So when I tried to loosen it, it would just keep turning.

If this happens to you. Just up the Lower Control Arm at the tip near the rotor and put a flat head screw driver inbetween the nut and the Control Arm.

Apply some pressure to that by pushing the flat head(Or pry bar which I used) up wards and just loosen it that way.

      Nice diy though.

This thread will be going to the DIY section, so that kind of information is great! Thanks for the tip!

Instead of disconnecting the ball joint?

Touching the tie rod can necessitate an alignment, though.

You're just disconnecting it, not really tampering with it. To me that's much safer + cheaper than disconnecting and possibly destroying a lower ball joint.

                  Chauvinist.

This was really for noobs, people (perhaps some women) who have never attempted to fix their own car.

Really... If you are to say "well done", you ought not insult me first.

i had to use the "pickle fork" ball joint sperator in doing mine, thats the only one autozone carry's for a ball joint remover. i tried that utube video but that didnt work.

good write up, you make it look much eaiser than when i did mine for the first time.

mine snapped completly because the bolt off the stabilizer bar broke and the wheel cocked backk and got stuck and the boot completlely ripped in half and is now hanging(right side)...will it be harder to change it like that
