ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

    another super charger question...

Hey guys, I've got the ability to get a centrifugal type supercharger for like $50 (teen wrecked car, parents removed all perfomance parts and selling them cheap). I know I'd have to fab a mount for it and get piping, but that's not a problem. I've got a partial machine shop in my barn and I'm not new to fabricating metal parts. Anyways I was wondering about how plausible is it to do a simple "bolt on and go" low boost s/c (less than 8psi) on the F22a1 that would give a few ft/lbs and ponies without having to chip the ecu, change injectors, fuel regulator, etc. Or is that concept a bad idea and I should leave it be.

I'm just looking for a fun custom project that's different, but not too expensive. I'm not specifically looking to boost my CB7, I just have this opportunity and figured i'd get some ideas from yall on it. If i do go on with this you can be sure I'll be posting a write up/how to for it as well. BTW this isnt for a fancy race car, just a DD that is a bit sporty.

you'd be okay for a few psi but its most likely going to lean out when you begin to build boost.

when you boost anything you really should have a tuned ecu for it beacuse if you put more air into the mix you should also have more fuel and if you just do one or the other the car wont run right. aswell as the injectors, fuel pump, etc. id say pick it up and hold onto it for that price and worst comes to worst you can always sell it later for more money.

Gotcha, that all makes sense. I'm not too keen on the whole boost thing so I went reading on the turbo threads. It seems I may be in for more than I bargained. I'm also looking as to where I'd put it at under the hood and im not seeing anything that looks too promising. After the snow melts i'll take a look under the car to see if there is a good mount location near the belts or what.

Starting to think that I would be just as well off grabbing the headers, cams, and such parts off the other F blocks for the small amount of power I would be wanting to get.

5psi might be ok, but you really need a tune with boost to avoid damage.

you might want to consider running it off the timing belt like this guy.

if you do it this way, the belt routing is a nightmare, lol.

Oh my gosh, that second one is nuts! hahaha. Now the first is an accord, but is that super connected to an H22(3) manifold? I wish the one I'm looking at was a roots, but i think It's a centrifugal, like the kind that looks similar to a turbo, just a pulley on the drive side instead.

delete the powersteering pump and a/c and relocate the alternator via esp relocation bracket.

ehhh... not too keen on removing power steering or the AC, call me a wuss but I like them in my CB7. But the alternator relocate sounds interesting, I'll have to check that out.

At the moment I'm debating just taking the grinder to my hood and cutting a hole so the s/c can fit on top the motor... just I want to keep it a sleeper as well. Maybe if I did that and ductaped a cardboard box over the exposed s/c and the hole no one would think twice.

Actually, that way is the simplest. That's the Jackson Racing roots kit for H22s/H23s and everything is taken care of for you. Just bolt it all on. I was considering that before I finally decided going all-motor (my low hp goals would be a waste of boost imo). The trouble with putting one in a CB7 (pictured) instead of a Prelude is engine bay clearance, as the photos are aimed at showcasing. The strut tower, firewall, and those cylinders make it tight and may need a bit of massaging.

Sorry for the double post, my PC's a POS so I'm typing off the PS3. But actually, looking at those pics it would seem an easy fix at least for strut tower clearance. Order some mounts from ESP with a request that they lift the engine slightly higher. A bulged hood or some risers would clear that easy. I wouldn't mind that. Damn, now I'm really wanting this blower again, I never saw those particular photos of this setup. It does change things... I so f*****g love superchargers...

only thing i dont like about that setup is its running off the timing belt. other than that is good.

im pretty sure its not running off the timing belt because:

1: timing belts are cog drive

                              2. it'd be a bitch to get the right belt and to time the cam.
