Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    how to remove rocker panel molding

    Back in 2010, I went to body shop to have the rocker panel molding on the driver's side removed. Before going there, I had removed the front wheel mud guard that covers the front end of the rocker panel molding. As I recall, the way they removed the panel was to apply some pressure (may take some strikes with a rubber mallet) to slide it forward or backward to make it slide off the fasteners holding it to the car. But, I can't recall which direction the force must be applied. Anybody know?

    I guess it could also be pried outside to force the fasteners to either pop out or break.

    Knock them forward. To remove the clips, rotate them 45 degrees and they will slip out. When reinstalling the moulding, install the clips in the molding, then it can be installed straight into the holes. Remember you have to remove the gromments from the bottom as well before removing the molding.

        Well, I discovered I can't knock the molding forward because it has a lip at the back up which comes up above the bottom of the wheel well and there's almost no space there between the lip and the wheel well. So, I can't knock it forward and I'm wondering whether it needs to be knocked backward instead of forward. Photo below:

          pry it out some. it will come off. ive done it so many times.

            So, pry it out/down with enough force to make it clear the bottom of the wheel well and then knock it forward, right?

                That should have been far enough forward for it to come off the clips.

                  No, that was it's position before I attempted to remove it. I had to pry down on the molding so that it could be persuaded forward with a rubber mallet. Then, it came off.
