I remember signing the petition against the building of the ring werk back in 2005-2007, Never understood the concept of the mall and amusement park at a proofing ground/race track. I remember thinking it would be a complete waste. The hotel alone probably would have been OK.

Most racetracks have hotels nearby, so that makes sense. But the mall and amusement park? Auto racing is hardly a family vacation, and there aren't THAT many racers that will travel with their entire family while they are competing...

You can tell your not from the south...down here NASCAR is a family event and vacation. People will show up and camp/hotel on wensday for a Sunday race. They will watch all 3 series practice, qualify, and race. They have parades and all that shit for a race
