    Iacv

okay i know this subject has been touched before but i called my local auto parts store and an IACV is like 150.00 bucks and iv'e also read to just clean it out so i asked the auto man about cleaning out he IACV and he said if i did it would mess up the sensor entirely resulting in me needing a new IACV so for the people that may have done this please let me know does it work or does it fail later on

IACV isn't a sensor, it's a little motor that opens and closes an air bleed passage. It tends to get gunked up with carbon. Clean the passage, and carefully clean the motor / pintle mechanism, and it should be fine.
