Installing door speakers??

I have searched but I can't find a straight answer to a couple of questions. I have a 92 EX sedan and I am looking at replacing my speakers. I know the rears are 6x9's, but I am a little confused about the front door speakers. I have read in different threads they are 4" and 5" and 5.25" speakers stock, so which is it. What size bolts up directly to the factory pods? I prefer the sound of 6.5" speakers up front, but I am not sure how difficult they are to make fit. What all is involved in installing a 6.5" speaker in the front doors? Thanks for your help!!

I the DX pods will work too.

My LX pods wouldn't work, so I ditched them and used some tubing to get enough clearance. Sounds fine to me.

My old LX: 6.5 in the front and rear
My current LX: 5.25 in the front and 6.5 in the rear.

im guessing that the manufacturers made random sizes for all models. Just like akebono or nissin.

That might explain the confusion. It seems like everywhere I look they state the front door speaker size to be something different.
