Does anyone have any ideas for me to get it shiny again?

explain your polishing process. maybe you didn't buff long enough. it's a true polish that requires working instead of the wax on/wax off method. so, the more you rubb, the more shine you get. the abrasives in the polish smooth the surface. simialar to sanding.

I have used a "500" sanding paper. I have only used the red bottle of plastic polish. I have buffed for a half an hour i think. I have even tried with a small electric cotton buffing wheel, but with no results....

Do I have to buy some extra polish products to get it shiny...? I have seen you also are using aluminum polish, bufferwheel and a powerball? Maybe I should try that to. I really dont think i can get any better results by hand...

I have just bought a real pro polishing machine for my car. Maybe it can be usefull in this case..

you don't have to buy any extra polish, but the mag & aluminum polish does help smooth it faster because it's more agressive with its higher media.

the only part i had some trouble with was the coin tray, i got it shined up, but it took a lot more work than the other parts. i would take a pic of my ash try, but i have gotten a metal dash kit and it's been covered by that. later.

i would also use a type of buffing wheel with the metal polish on badly oxidized plastic, but most things you can do by hand. these are some wheels:

I am going to refinish my Rims with the mag and aluminum polish.
BTW I know it's off topic, but have you seen the mini powerball?
I bet it works great on round foglights and the inside of rims.
