    new camcorder canon HG10 upload problem

    I just got my camcorder and still trying to play with it and get the hang of it , but I up loded the videos fine just when I was trying to upload my stuff to my photobucket their telling me

    "Upload Error
    The file "" does not have a valid video extension.
    Valid video extensions are: 3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, 3p, asf, avi, divx, dv, dvx, flv, moov, mov, mp4, mpeg4, mpg4, mpe, mpeg, mpg, qt, wmv, xvid, rm."
    ive looked thru my preferances and the file name does not have what I need to upload?wtf what do I do

    What type of file extension does your camcorder output?

      I dont know new to the whole camcorder thing where can I find the type of extensions , see when I upload videos its not like my camera the name will come out like 8 digit numbers? I dont know hope some one can help

        right click the file, hit properties.

        the file name will be something like 12345678.***

        what do the *** say?

          nothing its just 2008619 as for the general file type no ***

            i need a converter too..
            my camcorder (sony handycam hdd)

            records in MPEG 2 or something

            and no EDITING program lets me edit

              every file has a file extension, you just have windows set to hide known file extensions.

              you need to know what type of video file you have before you can think about converting for youtube.

              to turn off hiding known file extensions, follow these instructions:

                  once you get it to show the extension if its a .MOD extension , just rename it to .MPG, no need to convert that.
                  if its the AVC Codec [MPEG4], then you can use a MPEG4 to MPG Layer 1 or Layer 2 converter
