Has anyone ever put a cabin air filter under the cowl top. There is a spot it looks like a rectangular filter would fit pretty well. Anyone ever did this and can they tell me which one fit well. AM about to go out now and measure as i have all that stuff off.

I have not put a filter in that spot. I did put a bit of screen here to keep larger debris out of the evaporator core.

You may be able to buy a vent filter and cut it to fit contour the opening. -
Yeah i like that so effn pine needles and other shit don't get down there. I thought of a charcoal filter but that spot isnt so easy to get to and replace easily. A charcoal filter wouldn't last long before it is clogged.
