Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Skunk 2 Pro 1 or Pro 2?

I am building a N/A H22 daily driver and can't seem to find much info on these choices in regards to the H22. I would love to get at least 220-230whp with a nice streetable midrange. I've already ordered the pro 2's but am now skeptical of my decision. Is it possible to achieve this goal with pro 1's. As far as supporting mods:

    PLM Tri-Y header
220 Racing Stage 2 ported IM
    IAB delete
    Double stack IM spacers
    440cc injectors

My original plan was to use the pro 2's on a stock block, maybe mill the head .010-.020 for more compression or possibly raise compression using flat faced valves.

Stock red tops have hit 200+ at the wheels with intake, header, exhaust. I don't think you can hit 220 on a black top with just cams and an intake manifold. Instead of mulling the head toss in type-s pistons. That and bigger cams should do the job. What specific engine do you have?

Also do you think the pro 2 cams are too big for my setup to the point of inefficiency? I've seen one build where they used type s pistons with pro2's and made 236whp. http://www.preludepower.com/forums/s...d.php?t=352512 On the other hand, i do see one member on this site with 227whp using pro1's but thats the only non h2b h22 setup ive seen with that power on pro1's. http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showpost...&postcount=152

I'm not going to do the research, but figure out what you need to support each cam. If you can't support the cam, don't use it. I'm a much bigger fan of area under the curve vs peak hp. But that's just me.

                Hey TuneAccordingly.

First and foremost you have to consider your compression ratio before anything else.

A stock H22A is in the mid of the 10.x:1 C/R, I would not choose any stage 2 cam because the compression, in my opinion, is a little low for that.

If you were to ask me, I would say it was a wise choice to "downgrade" the cam, if you over-cam the engine, you might not even make as much peak hp as balanced cammed engine.

Source some Type-S pistons (Or Mahle Gold) and you will be surprised how much power you can make on stage 2 cams (based on builds readily available to read here on CB7T)
Check out my MRT, i'd love some constructive criticism ---> http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=204165 PICTURES FROM 2014! DOES NOT REPRESENT CURRENT STATE
