Greetings, new to the forum. Got a question. I have a 93 ex and the check comes on after about 5minutes or so of driving. It goes off it the car is turned off. Meaning, if the car is running with the check engine light on and you turn it off for a while.....when you turn it back on, no check engine light, but after 5 minutes or so it comes back. Any ideas?

Have you pulled the code? You should be able to find a blue plug under your dash on the passenger side. It won’t be plugged into anything. Jump the two holes with a wire or metal paperclip, turn your key to the accessory setting (just before the engine start position), and count the flashes of the check engine light. Long flashes are 10, short flashes are 1, and a pause is a break in codes.
From your description, and from knowing these cars, I’m expecting it to be code 43. “Fuel supply system”... but it almost always indicates a failing oxygen sensor. It’s a very common issue as these cars age. If this ends up being the case, get a Denso or NTK sensor ONLY. No Bosch. They don’t work. Be sure to get the correct sensor for your year and trim level, as they differ.

I would say code 43 or code 12. Which is the EGR and probably needs to be cleaned.~Nick~
